Germany

Cassidy can trace her ancestral line back to Germany in the 1600s. It was her great-great grandparents who immigrated to the United States in 1890 that established her maternal ancestry in Ohio.  In December of 2023, Cassidy and her family traveled to Germany to visit their homeland, explore modern-day Germany, World War II history, and connect with distant relatives who live on the ancestral homestead. Throughout her travels, Cassidy worked with digital and film photography as mediums. This trip was the inspiration behind her latest short documentary project, The Past from Within, which dives into her heritage and familial past to offer insight, inspiration and guidance for her future.
